Juvéderm is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers. The individual products differ in their properties and intended uses. The brand name alone therefore does not identify the appropriate treatment area or amount.
Selection is based on the tissue, treatment goal and manufacturer's information for the particular product. Some products contain lidocaine to reduce pain locally. Treatment can still be uncomfortable; any known intolerance must be reported beforehand.
As with other fillers, swelling, bruising, nodules, infections and serious vascular complications are possible. The product name and batch should be documented so they can be traced. A brand does not guarantee a particular result.
