Botulinum toxin is a medicine with intended effects and possible unwanted effects. Whether an aesthetic treatment is suitable for you cannot be answered by simply calling it “harmless”. Your examination findings, the specific product, the planned use and your medical history all matter.
How is your personal risk assessed?
Explain any medical conditions, medicines, previous injections and unusual reactions. This includes existing problems with swallowing or breathing, and conditions affecting nerves and muscles. The doctor treating you checks for contraindications and interactions. Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own.
Comparing a supposedly safe wrinkle-treatment dose with a much higher, supposedly dangerous dose is not a suitable way to assess safety. Units of different botulinum toxin products are not interchangeable. The dose, injection area and individual circumstances must be considered together; overdose or an unwanted effect cannot be ruled out in principle.
Which side effects and warning signs matter?
Pain, bruising, swelling and unintended weakening of nearby muscles are possible. Depending on the area treated, the position of an eyelid or eyebrow may change, for example. Even carefully planned treatment therefore carries risks.
Toxin effects extending beyond the treated area can cause serious symptoms. If you develop problems swallowing, speaking or breathing, seek immediate medical help. Do not wait for a reply to an administrative email or WhatsApp enquiry.
What happens during Botox treatment?
The first steps are examination and informed consent. Discuss which facial movement you want to change, the limitations and how to reach the team for aftercare. The doctor responsible injects the selected product according to the treatment plan. The injections themselves are only one part of the appointment.
A fixed follow-up day, a painless procedure or an immediate return to every daily activity cannot be promised to everyone. Symptoms, visible reactions and recovery vary. Agree on follow-up and next steps according to the product, area and your progress.
Could facial movement be restricted too much?
Yes. Botulinum toxin can change your expression more than you intended. Experience and a conservative plan do not reduce every risk to zero. Show and describe which movements matter to you. A natural, expressive face is a planning goal, not a guaranteed outcome.
A historical patient account
The original article quoted Giulia E. from Bonn describing her frown-line treatment. Her account is retained as an experience from that time; the following is a translation of the German original:
“My frown line is gone and I am happy. Lots of stress or lots of questions — you always hear the same thing. Why are you in a bad mood, or why are you angry with someone? As I said, you keep hearing the same thing, and all those questions get on your nerves. Finally, that has come to an end. Thank you, Mc Aesthetics.”
This individual recollection establishes neither general safety nor a particular result for anyone else. It is not a new review of the current team. The video link included in the original article remains available; images, editing and the time of filming need to be considered when interpreting it.
Further information and a personal enquiry
You can find further insights on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Forehead treatment and non-surgical nose reshaping are different concerns; articles and videos do not replace a separate medical assessment. The original article about Cologne-Chorweiler also remains linked.
