Whether eyelid surgery can be provided under German statutory insurance depends on a medically justified impairment and the conditions of care. A tired-looking appearance or a wish for smoother skin alone is not a promise of coverage.

Which documents support the decision?

Have symptoms and eye findings examined medically. If impaired vision is suspected, specialist assessment belongs in the plan; a photograph or your age does not replace that finding. Ask which documents are required for the specific operation proposed and whether your insurer must make a decision beforehand.

Before entering a binding agreement, also clarify the individual surgeon, treatment location and billing. A medically justified recommendation does not automatically mean that every private provider can bill statutory insurance. Separately, aesthetic planning should respect your own eye shape and a natural expression.

Possibilities and limitations

Eyelid surgery leaves scars; their course and visibility vary. Swelling, asymmetry and changes in eyelid position or closure are also possible risks.

Aesthetic treatments also carry risks. A particular result, a pain-free experience or an uncomplicated recovery cannot be guaranteed. Your medical consultation should include an individual explanation of the risks.

Aftercare and everyday life

Recovery and the return to normal activity depend on the treatment and your individual healing process. Swelling, bruising and discomfort may occur. Your treating doctor will explain aftercare and when you can resume everyday activities and exercise.

Mc Aesthetics provides information and handles organisational enquiries. Medical consultations, informed consent and treatment are the responsibility of the respective medical providers.

How do I arrange an appointment?

Before making a firm agreement, clarify who will treat you, where the treatment will take place, and what preparation and aftercare are required. Mentioning a city on an information page does not confirm that there is a clinic at that location.
