After my father's death, I committed myself to the company. If I was to preserve this life's work, I could not have acted otherwise.

Preserving a life's work means more than continuing what came before. It means living up to its standards. For Professor Altintas, this became a personal commitment: to a practice of medicine that combines German thoroughness and care with the courage to explore new paths.

His career is a journey through distinguished schools of surgery. At Hannover Medical School, he was shaped by Professor Christian Krettek, successor to Harald Tscherne and a leading figure in the school of trauma surgery Tscherne established. A longstanding mentor, Krettek profoundly influenced his discipline and surgical expertise. In Istanbul, Professor Yıldırım, former president of the Turkish Society of Plastic Surgery, opened new professional horizons. These were encounters with people whose experience extended far beyond individual techniques.

Gerald Spilker of the Cologne school, and Günter Germann of Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen, were among the formative teachers on his path. His doctorate at Heidelberg University, the oldest university in present-day Germany, laid a foundation for his scientific career. Hans-Ulrich Steinau, a recipient of Germany's Federal Cross of Merit and an outstanding figure in German plastic surgery, shared his surgical knowledge and opened doors to the professional societies. Robert Hierner and Alfred Berger, editors of authoritative textbooks in the field, accompanied him for many years as teachers, mentors and personal companions. Alfred Berger also supported the expert assessment of his scientific work. From this close association with great teachers, his own approach to medicine took shape.

His influences extended beyond medicine. Peter Eichhorn, a pioneer of public-sector business administration and public management, taught at the University of Mannheim, one of Germany's leading universities for business and economics. He shaped Altintas' understanding of economic responsibility and the leadership of non-profit organisations. Oktay Sinanoğlu, a professor at Yale University who was twice nominated for the Nobel Prize, also became a formative figure and a mentor in his life. These encounters nurtured a way of thinking that crossed national and disciplinary boundaries.

Collaborative scientific work connects him with colleagues at institutions including the University of Colorado, University Hospital Zurich and the University of Southern California. Numerous international studies and his editorial work in peer-reviewed journals reflect this exchange and his international standing. Research, teaching and clinical experience came together in this work.

From this combination emerged his own distinctive approach. His pioneering work in body definition and six-pack surgery, his approaches to non-surgical rhinoplasty, the Goldene Nase technique and the Haute Couture procedures for highly selective treatments share a common standard: medical precision, individual planning and the careful choice of the appropriate approach. Experience became the starting point for new possibilities. And new possibilities brought a particular responsibility.

He cared for figures from the business world and served as a presidential physician to several heads of state and ministers. Throughout, he remained discreetly in the background, without placing his position in the public spotlight. He also became a role model for a new generation of doctors whom he personally trained. He passed on more than surgical techniques: experience, judgement and an understanding of medicine that extends beyond formal specialist training. For our school of surgical practice, Professor Altintas is a legend. As a surgeon, a scientist and a teacher.

Since 2013, M C Aesthetics has been committed to this tradition. We preserve his techniques, his scientific work and the spirit of this school with respect and appreciation. For us, carrying it forward means making knowledge accessible, advising people with care and passing on medical experience responsibly. A life's work also finds its value in what others carry forward. M C Aesthetics. Built on experience. Committed to meticulous care.
