Eyelids and expression lines on a woman with mature skin

Puffiness around the eyes needs assessment before aesthetic treatment. It matters whether it is new or longstanding, affects one side or changes through the day. Swelling and a persistent bulge are not automatically the same thing. Our aim is a natural-looking change that respects your individual proportions and personal expression.

What should you tell the clinician?

Note when it started, how it changes, accompanying symptoms and previous treatments. Eye pain, changes in vision or marked redness with discomfort call for prompt medical assessment before cosmetic planning. An enquiry about filler should not replace examination of new swelling.

Have swelling assessed first

New pain in the eye, changes in vision or a markedly red, hot and painfully swollen eyelid warrant urgent medical attention. These symptoms should not be handled through routine aesthetic appointment planning.

A longstanding bulge of fatty tissue or excess skin is a different concern. Whether lower-eyelid surgery is worth discussing at all can only be assessed after an examination.

Why filler and skincare are not universal solutions

A hyaluronic acid filler does not treat every type of swelling or pigmentation. A swollen upper eyelid is not, by itself, an indication for filler either. Skincare and home remedies cannot establish the cause of unexplained swelling; equally, dark circles alone do not make a procedure necessary. How do dark circles develop? explains these differences.

If you are also interested in skincare procedures such as HydraFacial, these can be discussed separately. The procedure neither replaces medical assessment of swelling nor implies a promised treatment for eye bags.

Use images to help frame your questions

You can find more content on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Light, viewing angle and when a photograph was taken affect the appearance of the eye area. An image does not establish suitability for your situation or promise an instant change or permanently swelling-free eyelids.

Personal consultation and planning

Only an in-person medical examination can establish which treatment may be suitable. The consultation covers your goals, alternatives, risks and the next steps.

Preparation includes discussing your medical history, medication and previous procedures. The treating clinician, actual treatment location and follow-up arrangements are clarified before any firm agreement is made.

Possibilities and limitations

Hyaluronic acid fillers can temporarily alter contours and volume. Possible side effects include swelling, bruising and infection. Accidental injection into a blood vessel can cause serious complications, including tissue damage and visual impairment.

Aftercare and everyday life

Recovery and the return to normal activity depend on the treatment and your individual healing process. Swelling, bruising and discomfort may occur. Your treating doctor will explain aftercare and when you can resume everyday activities and exercise.

Mc Aesthetics provides information and handles organisational enquiries. Medical consultations, informed consent and treatment are the responsibility of the respective medical providers.

How do I arrange an appointment?

Before making a firm agreement, clarify who will treat you, where the treatment will take place, and what preparation and aftercare are required. Mentioning a city on an information page does not confirm that there is a clinic at that location.
